Gibson Guitar Brand Ambassador Modupé Breaks Through the  Noise of London to Launch Debut Single ‘Can’t Take This’

Oxford Street, London. Europe’s busiest street. Armed with a guitar, Modupé’s soulful voice is enough to stop people in their tracks and forget any surrounding chaos.

Releasing her first single Can’t Take This in April 2019, London’s best-loved busker is ready to take on the world.

Modupé’s voice isn’t the only thing that has taken over Oxford Street, her face has recently graced adverts on double decker buses as the ambassador for worldwide brand Gibson Guitars (in partnership with TFL and The Mayor of London).

Her talents quickly outgrew the pavement, leading to over three hundred live performances at events across the UK and Europe. This led to invites to perform at the world renowned Ronnie Scotts, and as the main act at the exclusive Big Bang Ball held at the Natural History Museum.

Modupé truly believes that anything is possible, and her songwriting showcases positive messages. Selected as a resident performer in many of London’s top venues such as Roundhouse, Proud Camden, The London Palladium, Mahiki, Rekorderlig Cider Lounge and BoxPark, Modupé’s talent has been endorsed all over the city.

Drawing inspiration from Amy Winehouse, Neneh Cherry and Ed Sheeran, Modupé embodies a completely original sound, cross referencing Soulful Blues and R’n’B.

Modupé was hand selected to be a Roundhouse resident artist in recognition of her talent and achievements to date. At 17 she was a semi finalist on Britain’s Got Talent , performing on TV to millions of people. Modupé’s musical journey led her to share the stage with A-List artists such as Sophie Ellis Bextor and Professor Green.

The single sets her up as a strong contender emerging from the London singer/songwriter scene. With her feet firmly on the ground and her roots in singing for the streets, Modupéis certain to take flight.
